Description |
A fine well proportioned 19th century mahogany desk / armchair of good proportions , possibly Irish.
This well drawn 19th century armchair having a shaped carved back rail with scrolling decoration and central carved leaf design.
Below this is a double caned back support having a turned rail below which leads down to the reeded arms with C-scroll armrests. The arms being supported by finely carved feline monopodium front legs terminating with hairy paw feet.
The seat being of good width is also double caned and in very good condition with the two rear legs being reeded and of sabre design.
This antique armchair is in excellent condition and has been finely restored having a good colour.
A well proportioned and designed armchair.
