Description |
A very good quality early to mid 19th Century Anglo Indian rosewood (East Indian Rosewood) carved table which can used as a breakfast or centre table.
This very attractive table has a round tilt top in solid rosewood with an intricately carved foliage edge and frieze. The top sits above a carved central turned pedestal adorned with acanthus leaves supported by a quadraform base terminating on four carved and turned bun feet and castors.
English cabinet makers travelled to India in the second and third quarters of the nineteenth century and this table would have been constructed by one of these highly skilled craftsman.
In excellent condition this table has been restored using traditional methods having a lovely colour and with the fine quality grain of timber used making this a very decorative table for most homes.
Height to underside of table 26 inches - 66cm |
